When the rebels received the blueprints for the Death Star in a new hope they didn't find a mechanical weakness but they did find a cell in the center of it, completely devoid of metal materials and surrounded by all of the highest security measures possible. So instead of launching an attack on the death star in order to destroy it, they launched an attack to release the prisoner in hopes that he would help them.

But was it just for evil? The thing always questioned, to this day. Could the universe indeed be as black and white as I painted? No, not anymore. Not from what I had seen and experienced.
