Five years old Adrian Raines is done with his life. He is fed up of having to be consoled by his parents and friends, and fearing to never be like the rest of the people he knew. The decision he makes is a tough one, but to him it is necessary. His best friend Diana had told him earlier to come to her if he wanted to talk about it, but he decides that running away from his problems is not going to be the solution. He must face it alone. Face it like a man. Like a Raines. 

Life, though, takes uncertain turns in the most complex points in one person's journey. It is true, that if one door closes then the other opens. How will the fateful night turn out for Adrian? How will Diana manage to convince him not to leave her behind? How will that night change their lives forever? Will another door open for Adrian? 

Will he be saved from himself?

Companion one-shot to Diadem series. I would recommend to read this one as it will clear up a lot of confusion regarding parts of my main story plot. Some things will be given as flashback in the main series in the future books most probably. So, if anyone who wishes to skip will be able to read these incidents in a friendly manner after a bit of wait.

A little bit late, he realised that he should have told her about the complete memory loss since he had no idea where he was going to go once he left the hospital-like room. On second thought, maybe making a scene would have actually been a good idea. Well, it was too late to turn back now. "I will just be going out for a little stroll...around. I must admit that I am in dire need of some fresh air. My, how long did you say I was out for again?" He put his hand to his chest like it was an absolute travesty to have not been told. "I-uh...four days, Mr. Malfoy. You were out for four days." "Well then, I shall be going now. Toodaloo!" Madam Pomfrey stood completely frozen for a long moment like this was the exact opposite of what she expected to happen when Draco woke up. "Mr. Malfoy, wait!" The witch eventually called out, but Draco was already out of the door. Draco wakes up in the hospital wing having no idea who he is and how he got there. Turns out he fell 20 feet down the stairs and got his memory wiped. What else could go wrong? Meeting Harry Potter definitely was fun, but can he figure out who obliviated him and get his memories back? Or will he be stuck like this for the rest of his life? Her coping techniques would probably be discouraged if she went to a therapist but those small acts of her exploding anger were the only things that could keep her going. That, and the newfound friendship she made at Hogwarts when she returned, along with most of the others from her year, as eighth-year students. Harry was grateful for the support the Weasleys had given him over the months but they didn't understand. Their situations were completely different even though they went through the same trauma. Everything angered Harry, he felt alone - weird considering how packed The Burrow was - and the fact that Ron and Hermione sneaked off to Ron's room at least once a day did not help. Maybe Haven's coping techniques weren't therapist-recommended and rarely safe, but it helped them to release all their anger and frustrations. Not only on glassware and walls, but on each other.
