The man nods his head. "I know, but you do need my protection. You're a child." He emphasized the word 'child,' probably because he knew how much I didn't like being called one.
"I'm not a child." I cross my arms, though part of me felt relieved. At least I'd have a place to sleep tonight.
"Well, you are to me."
