Everyone struggles with their own storms in life, but not everyone knows about one of the most horrible, but yet, beautiful storm to go through-- being a woman. This Women's Month, we celebrate the women who strive, conquer, fall, but mostly, get up when they do. Priscilla is my great grandmother and she brought the first maternity to the women of her village in the early 1900s, as they were constantly embarrassed and abused by the men who ruled them. The first maternity was her house, as it was in the center of the town. She fought until all women could deliver their babies in peace and not have to bare the pain and humiliation of finding a hospital nearby. I pray that as you read this, you are also inspired to do something great for your community, but most importantly, for yourself. Happy International Women's Month. Being a woman is a blessing, don't ever forget that.
