    "You ready? Do you still need time? I can continue to stall for you if you'd like-" my dad rambles on in concern. He's always been my protector even when I didn't need it, its always been me and him against the world (Sammy too, but he's a dog so he kind of doesn't count). Unfortunately though, he can't protect me from this. 
    
    "Vati, I'm fine. Let's just get this over with." My voice comes out strained and low, but Vati just smiles at my bravery.
    
    I spare a quick glance at my feet taking a deep breath. Looking back up at my dad I give him a small smile as I gently push past him to step up to the door. Grasping the handle I turn it curtly and push the door open. I cannot believe this all has to happen because of a technicality...
