It is six hundred years into the future and the world has gone to hell. Fear and suspicion has taken over. People have gone back to the we we behaved in the dark ages. Fear and reason has once again been abandoned for hatred and hysteria.

Witch hunts are rampant and like before innocents, weather they actually possess the gift or not, are hunted down and accused.

This is the world Velvet has grown up in. From a young age- as you might expect, she learned to hide her gifts. For years she was successful. unfortunately her luck runs out one day when she encounters Devon, a tenacious young witch finder in the market.
In a matter of seconds her life comes crashing down on her as she is arrested, tortured and put on trial. Worst of all, for reasons she can't explain, she is drawn to Jacob in ways she had never expected. Can she convince the court, Jacob, and thd people- people she grew up with, of her innocence? That people like her are not all to be feared? She had better, because her life literally depends on it.
