Desiree McLintock, a 24 year old beautiful woman with an attitude problem goes on a binge eating disorder as her modeling career gets destroyed by a fresh new model with a better attitude than she has and who just happens to be her former classmate whom she used to tease for being so fat. As she gains weight, she discovers herself and gains real friends who are in it for the friendship and not for the fame of being friends with a famous model celebrity. Patricia Adams, formerly known as Fatty Patty is not so fatty anymore. In fact she cleaned up so well that she is quickly gaining fame as a success story. Now armed with lean arms (no pun intended) and a lithe body, she makes a name for herself in the fashion world as the next top model. It turns out modeling isn't quite as easy as it sounds. Patricia finds herself in an unknown world and learns to embrace it but forgets the most important thing in her life: Her identity.

Cathy Sanova is a beautiful, intelligent, Black student who just transferred from a small community college to the most prestigious university in California. Overwhelmed by the large campus, the wealthy students and the fact that she feels totally alone, she begins to think it was a mistake letting her mother talk her into going there, until she befriends Brent Jaggers, the university's star quarterback. Who is this overconfident, wealthy, all-American looking, White boy who just won't leave her alone? Doesn't he know they are from two different worlds and she has no business being in his. And yet, the stubborn man refuses to leave her alone even has the nerves to claim her as "his" even though they aren't dating. He's demanding, overconfident, walks the campus like he owns it and he's decided to own her too. He challenges her and shows her there is more to her than just being a shy student hiding behind her books. As frustrating as he is, Cathy finds herself falling for a man she knows she can never truly have. You can read the rest of the summary in the "Introduction" page.
