In a town where everything seems perfect, Alexa's so called "perfect" life showcases the skeletons everyone has in their closet.

Being a queer teenage girl is never easy but in the world of fake and faker, it's harder than expected. Will her unrelenting feelings for her best friend fade? Will her ex-girlfriend stick around a little longer this time? Or will the not so new girl manage to get Alexa's attention?

Traumatic was never a word used in the small town of Rockland, Maine. A perfect life isn't traumatic. A coverup here and there never hurt anyone right? Wrong. What happens when the false identities fade and you're only left with the truth? How much and Who will you recognize?

Fake it til you make it was the only possible route but when Alexa gets the chance to open her closet and let the skeletons fall out, will she? Or will she continue to keep up the facade?

Dive into the reality of a supposedly "perfect" life with "The Fourth of July and the Surrounding Events."

How bad could it be to enlist your female best friend into helping you lie to your Christian family about your new relationship with your male best friend and about your newfound sexuality? Not that bad, right? Right??? --------- Nova Queen and Arizona "Ari" Matthews weren't always close in high school, but after an intense and serious conversation in the library one day, the two become the best of friends until they go their separate ways their freshman year of college. Now in their mid 20s and freshly out of grad school, they are reunited in the park of their hometown where Ari asks a huge favor of Nova that she later wishes she had refused. But in the end, will she really wish she had refused? *FA spans a timeline from 2010-2020 to help the reader see how the relationships were built between characters in a partial series of flashbacks. It also helps the reader to really see into the minds of Arizona and Nova as they age, and the effect different life events have on them. It's a bit of a slower build and the plot is mostly seen a little later in the book, but I promise it's worth it. 🙂 *I do not own any of the rights to the music nor the pictures. *Rated M for language, sexual content, destructive behaviors, suicide, and dialogue that may be triggering for some readers. *These characters may do or say things that you don't agree or may get upset with, please remember YOU ARE NOT THESE PEOPLE, and their lives are a work of fiction and my imagination. I stood with my back to her, shielding her, and my murderous eyes stared down at the poor excuse of a man, promising unimaginable pain if he dared to move or even flinch. The enormity of control it took me to suppress the impulse to eradicate the piece of scum, who dared to even think about laying a hand on a woman, was inconceivable. My whole body was trembling with rage. The guy was intimidated by the fury in my eyes and stumbled back to his intoxicated friends who were too dazed to understand the situation. I was disappointed and relieved at the same time that the chaos didn't end in a fist fight. When I turned around to console her, she was gone. And as I looked around, I saw her back just leaving the bar through the entrance. I hurried out to follow her. She walked ahead of me aimlessly and disoriented like a wounded animal that had just escaped the claws of death. My heart ached for her. I found a kindred soul in her. She evidently had been wounded in the past. Just like me. But in an even worse way than I had been hurt, and it angered me, that someone had dared to harm her. *** Eden Marie Simmons is still recovering after escaping an abusive relationship when she meets Keane, the broody and enigmatic neighbor who is shrouded in mystery. Both are still being haunted by their past and are not ready for a new commitment, but when fate repeatedly puts them in each other's paths, they can't deny their attraction for each other. Life challenges them both with secrets, lies, and broken trusts, and confronts them with their pasts. They both must learn to be brave enough to love again. *** Story is previously called "Paradise Lies"
