For the record, Cameron "Cam" St. James got arrested for a dumb prank. Off the record, it was far from a joke. It was personal.

When word gets out that Cam has gotten into trouble with the beloved mayor, his reputation takes a hit. He goes from the town's golden boy to public enemy number one. All the overwhelming amount of hate becomes a good excuse to make a getaway for the summer. But Cam can't stay away forever, not when he's left so many unanswered questions. All of which his ex-girlfriend Summer Bennet is dying to figure out.

Summer can't wait to put her investigative skills to the test. Her small blog can finally be useful for something other than meager town updates. Summer wants the truth behind why the elusive bad boy risked it all and, most importantly, why Cam is suddenly adamant about staying away from her. But Cam's secrets are part of an elaborate web, and Summer could easily get tangled up.

So as Summer inches closer to the truth, she puts Cam in a tight spot. Everyone believes Cam's actions were unprovoked, but the real story is one for the headlines. Cam might have been hell-bent on seeking justice, but it's his word against the most powerful man in town. Cam might have a fiery blogger on his side who doesn't know when to back down, but what if it isn't enough?

I stepped forward and asked, "Where do you want me?" It took me a second to realize what I just said. Shit! I placed a hand on my crimson face and muttered, "Get your head out of the gutter! You know what I meant." He laughed, his voice sounded hoarse and deep even when he's laughing. I peeked at him from the gap I made between my fingers. He was close. So close. He grabbed my hand and took me to the bed. Damn! It did sound sexy. His shirt was loose. Too large for me, and it hung on me like a cloth hung on a hanger. He sat on the bed, criss crossed and pulled me to him. ♡♡♡♡♡ The thing about love is... its unpredictable. Even when you don't want love, it just happens. "A guy isn't going to care if you're laughing with a dude," he said. "You laugh with friends. You do this with someone who is more than friends." Wolf placed his hands on my waist, pulling me in flush with his body. He dipped his head to my ear and whispered, "See? No one that looked at us right now would think we're friends." ------------------------------- When Savannah's long term boyfriend, Tripp, breaks up with her out of the blue before their annual summer lake vacation, she's devastated. Enter Wolf. He's the son of her parents' best friends, who happen to share a connecting lake condo. Savannah hasn't seen Wolf in two years since he stopped coming on family vacations. He's notorious for trouble, the exact opposite of Savannah. Wolf shows up one day and suggests that they pretend to be in a relationship during their two week vacation. He's convinced that his mom's adoration of "good girl" Savannah will change her mind about his recent house arrest. In exchange, Wolf suggests Savannah can use their fake relationship to lure Tripp back by making him jealous. Savannah is hesitant, but is just desperate enough for Tripp's attention that she agrees. Spending time with Wolf on their pretend dates becomes a problem when Savannah begins to have feelings for him. After all, Wolf is off limits. Her best friend has a major crush on him, and Savannah is supposed to be with someone sensible like Tripp, not the lead singer of the high school rock band, Wolf and the Midnight Shepherds. In the end, Savannah will need to decide if falling for Wolf is worth the consequences.
