Lex is one of a kind, or is supposed to be anyway. In her small section of the Dawn your life is layed out on a wooden plater painted gold. She grows up with what seems like a perfect life, never falling behind in school and never last during training. Lex is a tough girl who hears the stories of others and decides to trust no one, but her parents. She knows life is about to get hard and is ready for it, that is until her 13th birthday when she is moved to the outside section of the Dawn and must learn to rely on herself to survive, not only the Dawn but the other 13 year olds as well.
When Lex is tested by the Council, she prays for her goddess to help her, only to find it doesn't exist. She soon comes across a book that she has heard about and prays to God as it says to do in the book and her prayers come true. She now has someone to trust, but can she trust Him enough to stand up for her faith and pass the test?
