Clay "Dream" Collins is your average high school football prodigy, popular and charming. Nearly everyone at school is in love with him, most of which is from his own manipulation. George is a new transfer student that became captain of the cheerleading team. He is an optimistic boy who isn't afraid to dress feminine, and while many respect him for this, many judge him.
After one eventful night at a party, Dream and George end up alone in a room, with George claiming he won't ever fall for Dream. Dream makes this his goal to change the male cheerleader's mind. How hard could it be?

Everything keeps escalating until a young boy with bulimia nervosa stays with him in his hospital room... He starts using his money in the wrong way and eventually runs out, seeking a job as a babysitter in a family with a very sick boy. Clay does anything to enjoy life as a normal teen and acts like the funny guy who constantly jokes about his sexuality and uses a lot of pick-up lines which makes everyone laugh. When Clay is the witness of a murder at his tenth, his life seems to be over. Because of the daily death threats, blackmailing and fear he needs to live in, he decides to take drugs to calm down. Within days, he gets severely addicted to alcohol and drugs and starts stealing for his drug dealer to get more so he doesn't do anything to himself to stop the intense fear within him. George lives the absolute perfect life and doesn't know anything about problems. He thinks everyone is complaining until he finds his sibling who overdosed and then figures out Clay suffers too. He has no idea how to cope with it, but decides to do anything he can to be a better friend and brother.
