Eve Kane is a seventeen year-old delinquent on the Ark in space. Ninety-seven years ago, the last remaining parts of the human race went into space to escape the radiation soaked planet, and they had been living there ever since.

Eve is the daughter of councilman Marcus Kane, and for four years straight she was abused by her awful step-mother; Councilor Kane just turned a blind eye to it, because he needed no drama surrounding him and his family. One day, Eve snapped, and that resulted in her killing Kristy--he step-mother--with a screwdriver she stole from the engineering unit.

Typically, when a crime is committed on the Ark, the committor is floated into space, but if they are under the age of eighteen they must be held in a prison cell until the age of eighteen when they are reviewed. Eve was locked up for six months, but one-hundred juvenile delinquents including herself were sent to Earth to see if it was habitable.

While on the ground, Eve desperately tries to seem as if she didn't brutally kill her step-mother, but once somebody finds out all hell brakes loose. As, she becomes persecuted, Eve desperately wants to make amends with her father, but he is stuck in the Ark dying along with his people.

Ataraxia (at·a·rax·ia) (n.) a state of blissful and serene calmness; freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety. [ Bellamy Blake x OC ] When Freya was a kid, a kind family helped her out of a bad situation, taking care of her when her own father wouldn't - being too resentful towards the little girl for his wife's passing. During one of the many days on which he had locked Freya out of their living quarters to fend for herself, she had bumped into a little boy not much older than herself, Bellamy, and his mother Aurora. The two kids grew to be fast friends. Living on a space station after the nuclear end of the world, Freya didn't have many places to go, and from then on, the Blakes became her refuge, and after spending years escaping to their home, she moved in. She and Bellamy were inseparable, and she loved his mother, and his illegally hidden little sister, Octavia, just like they were her own, and relished in the feeling of finally having a family - of feeling safe and loved. But everything fell apart when Bellamy's well-intended plan to give Octavia a taste of freedom backfired. Octavia was imprisoned and sentenced to death, and Aurora was floated into space for breaking the Ark's strict population law of only having a single child. Freya couldn't forgive Bellamy for the consequences, and their once-strong bond shattered. Their friendship turned into avoidance and resentment, with both cutting all contact. When Octavia, along with 99 other teenaged prisoners awaiting their death sentence, was scheduled to be sent to Earth in a desperate attempt to save humanity, with the Ark's dwindling life-support threatening its survival yet again, everything changes. Determined to protect her against the unknown, Bellamy and Freya both sneak onto the dropship, forcing them to confront their fractured relationship in the harsh realities of a new world. THE REASONS || Bellamy Blake ~ the 100 by KylieRutledge17

BOOK I: The Reasons - the ground is unforgiving. So is survival. Madison Cameron was born in space, a child of the Ark, never feeling the sun on her skin or breathing the fresh, unfiltered air of Earth. She's never experienced the sensation of water, the way it would flow against her or lap around her as she swam. For three generations, humanity has clung to the Ark, floating in the cold vacuum of space, its fragile walls the only barrier between them and extinction. The Ark was all they knew-sterile, artificial, far from the dangers and beauty of Earth below. But now, the Ark is dying. It can't sustain them much longer. They are the last hope of mankind, a fragile chance for survival. The Earth they land on, however, is nothing like they imagined. It's not a fresh start or paradise - it's a nightmare. The air is toxic, wildlife monstrous, and every step is a battle for survival. The Earth is alive, but it's unforgiving. Amidst this chaos, Madison and Bellamy Blake find themselves at the forefront, taking on the roles of leaders. Both carry the heavy weight of responsibility, knowing that the survival of the remaining human race rests in their hands. They both strive to protect their people, to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival. But where Madison is focused on the harsh reality of survival-pragmatic, calculating, determined to keep them alive - Bellamy's vision is driven by something more abstract: freedom. They clash over their ideals - her need for structure, his thirst for freedom - and every time their paths cross, the tension between them makes their already perilous situation even more volatile. Yet, the Earth continues to test them. It doesn't care about their petty squabbles or their hopes for a better future. The planet doesn't care about Madison's desire for control or Bellamy's lust for freedom. It only cares about one thing: survival. A place where several different countries came together to create a place where they can all live in peace until Earth is a safe place to live in once again. With oxygen supply running short, possibly gone within the next four months, there was only one thing left to do; send 100 convicts under the age of eighteen down to the dangerous terrain that is planet Earth. Almost everyone aboard The Ark knew about the tale of Octavia Blake, the girl who lived under the floorboards for around sixteen years, but her story pales in comparrison to Olivia Ross', the girl who was ripped away from her family the moment she was born. All because she was a twin. It was against the law to have more than one child on The Ark due to supplies available, but after a misdiagnosis, Liv's mother had twins rather than just the expected son. This immediately resulting in her jail sentence. Except when Liv finds herself two weeks away from reaching the dreaded age of eighteen, she's soon casted down to Earth along with ninety nine others just like herself. Liv knew that this journey would be dangerous, but she never expected to see the one person she had desired to meet most; her twin brother. [season one] [book one of the olivia ross series]

Arya Kane, the brilliant daughter of Marcus Kane and Callie "Cece" Cardwick, was always captivated by the mysteries of the human body. When she came of age, she convinced Abby Griffin, the Ark's chief medical officer, to teach her everything she knew. Through determination and skill, Arya became one of the Ark's youngest doctors, making history as the first and last to achieve that honor. But one mistake changed everything. Compassionate to a fault, Arya made a life-saving decision that defied the Ark's strict rules. She stole medicine for a patient in need, knowing full well the consequences. Discovered by the council and the chancellor, she was sentenced to a year in confinement-the longest and most painful year of her life. Yet, despite her punishment, Arya found solace in the fact that she saved a life, even if it cost her own freedom. However, once her sentence was over, an even darker fate awaited her. Arya, along with 99 other criminals, was sent to Earth-a planet abandoned for generations-to test its survival conditions. What they found was not only a world that was still livable, but one filled with unexpected dangers.
