Dameon has always been told that his father's chemical experiments are to serve the Greater Good, no matter how cruel they seem. He believes it -- until a series of murders and attacks leave him utterly alone, with the realization that his father's interpretation of 'greater good' was very different from what he expected.

His father left many tasks unfinished, and now Dameon takes up the most important one as his own, pursuing it with a grim purpose. He plans to succeed where his father failed, to complete and perfect one of those chemical mixtures - one that he believes could change the fate of humanity. But Dameon has a secret about the nature of his work. A secret that either makes him a savior or a murderer, depending on how you look at it...

An original sci-fi book that explores a possible future of our world - and the dire consequences that could result.

Main Characters (Updated) Seraphina Wite Twenty-year-old biochemistry student. Quiet, razor-smart, stubborn in a way that scares her professors. She works nights in the city's forensic toxicology lab through a confidential internship she was never technically qualified for. Dr. Monet Holloway Thirty-four. The new supervisor of the forensic lab. Brilliant, dangerously composed, and the youngest forensic pathologist the department has ever hired. He carries secrets in his silence and grief behind his eyes. Updated Story Premise Seraphina is balancing university exams, research, and dead bodies - until Monet Holloway arrives and flips her predictable routine upside down. He becomes her direct supervisor. He's strict, unreadable, and makes her feel something she has no business feeling. And then their first case together lands on the metal table. A body with an impossible chemical signature - a compound Seraphina recognizes from her own university's restricted research vault. When she tells Monet what she sees, he shuts down. "This compound does not leave university grounds," he says. "And no one outside the development team should know it exists." But Seraphina is part of the development team. And someone used her credentials to access the vault. She's being framed - and Monet knows it. Biochemistry students connected to Seraphina's program are disappearing. The compound found in the victims was part of a neurological augmentation study shut down years ago - a project infamous for unethical experimentation. Someone brought it back. Someone linked to her university. Someone using her name. The deeper they dig, the more Seraphina becomes the prime suspect. And the more Monet risks everything - his job, his ethics, his carefully constructed life - to keep her safe.

Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. Human rights are reserved for humans, right? Maybe wearing one's skin isn't enough to merge into the mortal world. Many of us, variants if you prefer to regard us nicely, otherwise monsters, are born with otherworldly specialties. And those born without it considered us curses to the land while we saw it as superpowers. They call us monsters yet they're the ones hunting us. Till it was me they're hunting down, they locked me in a facility with horrific scientists. The other variants are my allies, the facility, our enemy. The leader of the facility is just another one of us, but he's standing on the opposite side, battling against us. Everyone can lie, but no one can deceive a psychic. Standing before him, you can't hide anything. Your thoughts, your schemes, the psychic hears it all. I, like every other variant locked in this place, dreamed of escaping. Continuous outrageous breakouts just to get recaptured? I need a disparate way, a more intriguing method to sneak myself out of here. Kaysen Hayes, leader of the facility, his job is to keep us all contained. Anyone who dares to escape will come to face him, and he never fails to trick us, put us into defeat. A few variants earned their alliance with the facility, like tamed animals, they'll come to help whenever there's a breakout. When I saw one of those variants, traitorous ideas sprung to my mind. But I need not wait long till the offer comes to me in person. How long until he runs out of tricks? How long does loyalty last? Tricks don't last forever, and so does loyalty. Seventy-four years has been long enough. The way of the infamous Hunger Games has been altered. No longer is every Gamemaker out to devise the worst means of torture and death for every tribute. No longer are the people of Panem outwardly tolerant of President Snow's murderous actions. Under the facade of a normal group of Gamemakers, several rebellious citizens have begun an experiment which, if it succeeds, will make use of technology both to rescue the tributes before they are dead and then deposit the brainwashed children back in time. They have to try it. No one knows what horrors future Hunger Games may bring, and the desperate rebels are willing to try anything. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions of District 2, Cato Hadley and Clove Kentwell have trained their whole lives for the Games. Nevertheless, their ambitions change when they, without meaning to, find themselves in the Games together. They are both determined to win. But if they don't, what will happen to them? The brainwashed tributes who land in New York City know nothing of who they are or where they are from. They do not remember Panem, or the Games, or even their own names. This is a science fiction story based off the Hunger Games and its characters. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Hunger Games! This story is based around a plot twist I created, but all rights go to Suzanne Collins, the author of the original series. Disclaimer no. 2: this was a first draft written by a very awkward fifteen-year-old me; please treat it as such. When Amelia Swanson was four, her parents were murdered. The killer was never caught. Twelve years later, something opens a door to her past. It doesn't offer Amelia any answers - only more questions. Dangerous questions. ...The kind people have died for. Now Amelia and her best friend Marv are being hunted. By a system built to suppress the past. By people who have killed to keep secrets buried. And by something dark that stalks her dreams-something that knows her name. As the net tightens around them, Amelia realises they aren't the only ones searching. Everyone is circling the same hidden conspiracy. Politicians. Journalists. Scientists. Secret societies. Resistance cells. Assassins. Amelia begins to understand the truth she was never meant to find: her parents weren't random victims. They were players in a hidden game. And she just stepped onto the board. ------ What to expect from The Hidden game: - A conspiracy thriller with underlying psychological horror elements. - A slow-burn investigation that constantly escalates into real danger and a large conspiracy. - A surveillance-state dystopia and critique of both systemic and algorithmic power. - Layered mysteries where every answer creates new questions. - The story has a strong focus on found family and fiercely loyal friendships. Content warning: parental death (past/flashback), trauma and PTSD, nightmares, occasional violence and death (no gore), and pervasive surveillance themes. ------ Release schedule: I'm aiming to release a new chapters every 10-14 days with short breaks (2-4 weeks) between seasons. Current status: Book 1, Season 1 complete (20 Transmissions, ~60k words). Season 2 is underway and the hunt is active. Planned scope: a trilogy of books split across 9 seasons (approximately 750k words).
