Not long after, Kayla left her table and came over to the counter. She had her coat on one arm and her purse under the other. "She's leaving. This is my chance", I mumbled to myself. Kayla furrowed her brows in confusion. "What's that you said?", she asks.
What's what I said? Shit, she heard me. "Don't give me that look. I heard you". She says sternly.
I will kill myself.
"U-Uhm I was wondering if maybe...you know...", What the hell am I doing. I'm so dead. What do I say now?
A tap on the countertop shut me out of my nervous thoughts. Kayla's brown eyes connect with mine and I shut out every other thing in sight. Her face lit up before me but I think that was because the background morphed into glitters at some point.
She glanced at her hand on the counter and my eyes unconsciously did the same. A piece of paper was under it as she said, " I like you. So, I'm leaving my number", and exited the diner.
