After a violent incident exposes her abilities, she is tracked down by Charles Xavier and Moira MacTaggert, who are recruiting mutants for a mission that could shape the future of human-mutant relations. Reluctantly, Y/N joins the fledgling team-drawn not by duty, but by curiosity and a desire to belong.

Among them is Erik Lehnsherr-Magneto-a driven, vengeful man on a personal crusade to hunt down Sebastian Shaw, the man who destroyed his childhood. Y/N and Erik clash at first: she sees the world in shades of hope, while he sees it in terms of survival and vengeance. But amid training sessions, missions, and long, heated debates about humanity's future, an undeniable bond forms between them.

As the team races to stop Shaw from igniting World War III during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Y/N finds herself torn between Charles's vision of peaceful coexistence and Erik's darker, more militant path. Erik, too, is forced to confront his own growing feelings for Y/N-feelings that challenge his single-minded pursuit of revenge.
