"Enough about mine. What's up with your heart, huh?", he quizzed, squinting his eyes to study my reaction.
"Oh, it's just pumping blood and lymph.", I said dryly.
"How poetic! For a writer like yourself!", he teased.
"Why, thank you. The upshot is that I have a boring one and you got none.", I responded wittily.
But I reached the end of my wit when he yanked my wrist and placed my hand over his heart.
