The child couldn't have been older than 5 months, yet the stranger set her down on the doorstep, and mounted his bike again, disturbing the silence once more. With still no emotion, the rider left the baby on the doorstep and drove away. As the bike left the town, things became silent again, only to be broken by a child's cry. Loud and piercing through the air, the small girl had finally made a sound, crying for help.

Ever since Penny could remember, she was alone. All she could remember was being an orphan, after being dropped off at an orphanage in France when she was a baby. But that was fine by her. She could do better on her own anyways. All she needed was the few friends she had. But everything changes when she meets someone who changes her life forever. Dragged along with her, Carol brought James Barnes with her, hoping it would help him in some way. Was it fate or just plain luck that she met Bucky Barnes?

B12. That was what HYDRA had called her ever since she had been snatched from her parent's grasps at the young age of 4. She had been experimented on, tortured and pushed to her limits for so long that she was beginning to forgotten her old life. One where she had been normal, a life without fear, without misery, without the monster living inside her. But her whole world changed when the God of Mischief discovered her in her white-tiled cell. Upon accidently being found by Loki and the Avengers, B12, also known as Emily, finally has another shot at living a normal life. A mostly normal life. Her powers make it difficult for anything to be normal. As well as having Loki Laufeyson as a friend. Or possibly more than a friend. -.-.-.- Nobody has ever wanted to help me before." I whispered. "They had always hurt me or been afraid of me. I've never had anyone how wanted to... I don't know, be friends with me." "I know how that feels." Loki said quietly. "I've never had any friends. Everyone always wanted to be friends with my brother instead of me. He got all the attention, while I was forgotten about. Sometimes, I would come across that one person who became a friend, but then they would meet my brother and leave me to be friends with him instead" He fell silent, jaw clenched, and I couldn't help place a comforting hand on his wrist. "I promise I won't leave you." I smiled softly. -.-.-.- I do not own any of the Marvel characters in this book except for Emily. As an eighteen year old girl in Brooklyn, New York in the 1930's, falling pregnant unplanned is not on your agenda. So when it happens, it's needless to say your world comes crashing down. You know it is going to change your life forever and at this point of course you think it will be for the worst, especially when everyone who you thought loved you and held you dear turns their backs on you. But there is one person left you can depend on. The person you would trust with your life. Your life long best friend, Bucky Barnes. Worried what everyone will think and ashamed of your increasingly not so little secret, Bucky stands by your side and is with you throughout what you think will be the biggest hardship of your life... little do you know that this is only the beginning. Keeping your secret and standing by your side when times get tough stirs up brand new kinds of feelings between the two of you. But it turns out that knowing Bucky Barnes comes with a price, and playing such a huge role in his life, can you handle being dragged so deeply into all that is to come? It's seems that whenever Bucky and you start to think you might finally be able to settle down together and start a relatively normal life something has to go wrong. And now with not just yourself to look out for is it worth the involvement? The bond between you two seems unbreakable after all you've gone through together but with fate seemingly determined to keep ruining your lives will something ultimately go so wrong that it just can't be fixed? I will put warnings at the beginnings of chapters for smut and triggers etc. DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the characters, these are just things I imagine!
