SINS OF FROST AND HEAT

20 parts Ongoing Mature

Ruby staggered back, her breath ragged, wiping blood from the corner of her mouth. Liam stood opposite her, his jaw tight, the rain soaking them both. His fists were still clenched, but he wasn't advancing. Not anymore. "Why don't you just finish it?" she spat, her voice sharp but trembling. Liam's eyes burned into hers. "Because you don't want me to." Her laugh was bitter, broken. "Don't flatter yourself." "Then stop looking at me like that," he growled, stepping closer. "Like what?" "Like you'd rather kill me or kiss me." The air between them buzzed, heavy and charged. Ruby's heart pounded as he closed the space between them, his hand brushing hers. "You don't know me," she whispered, though her voice lacked conviction. "I know enough," Liam said, his voice rough, his gaze locked on hers. For a moment, neither moved, their breath mingling in the cold air. Then, without warning, Ruby grabbed the front of his shirt and yanked him forward. Their lips met in a collision of anger and need, the kiss desperate, violent, and all-consuming. When they finally broke apart, gasping for air, Liam's hand cupped her jaw, his thumb brushing her cheek. "Still hate me?" he murmured. Ruby's lips curved into a dangerous smile. "Shut up, Liam." And she pulled him in again.
