Prince Taron al Valius looked up from his throne to stare at the arena below, gold eyes blown wide. Something unexpected just happened for the first time since, well, ever. Fire benders had been driven to extinction 378 years ago. That's nearly four generations. So what was one doing right in front of him?

He put up a hand. "Leave her."
Leaning back, Taron rested his jaw on his palm, elbow against the alabaster marble that made up his seat. A sharp grin made it's way to his lips. "She's...intriguing."

The Valian Empire has taken over most of the west content and as great as unification is, tyranny isn't quite so warm and fuzzy. Rila agreed. Which is why she was part of the Hindrance, the only rebellion-group left. That all changed, though, the day they were captured. But even though death looms on the horizon, a last-minute, desperate (also, like, very dangerous) plan to overthrow the empire is called into action.
Which is great, really, except it all rides on Rila's metal fortitude to withstand the torture and manipulation of the High Prince. And considering her shit-eating attitude, they're chances are not the best. (like, really bad.) But without any other alternative left, she agreed. When it comes down to it, will she remember her purpose in a fight for freedom, or follow her brainwashing and side with the prince? To Rila, the answer is obvious.
But she may have underestimated High Prince Taron al Valius on this one.
