"The darkness could be blinding," my mother whispered before she closed her distant gray eyes, joining my little brother up in the dark and deep sky. I don't think she knew what she was saying and I don't think I quite understand, but I have to agree with her. --- She was happy. That's what she appeared to be. But deep down inside, she was deeply wounded. What could ever help her heal? She tried many ways, but in the end all possibilities failed. There was one way, one that she didn't know of. It was the one thing that she extremely feared. It was something that blinded her.

I smiled and placed my hand on hers, closing my eyes to savour the feeling. I was enjoying it until I felt a teardrop on my face and when I looked up, I saw she was crying. "What is wrong my love?" I asked, raising my head from her lap and looking straight in her face. "Don't you feel ashamed of being in love with a blind girl? Don't you think Blessing is better for you? Don't you get scared that your friends will mock you, What if everybody..."
