Mason Smith used to be an outgoing, funny, typical teenager loving life with his parents and siblings in Detroit.

Until one day it all went downhill.

His parents went into a divorce but each parent wanted custody over the children. Of course Mason's siblings chose their mom but it was hard for Mason to choose on who he wanted to stay with since he was the closest with his Dad.

They both would always play music together and have that special bond between them. When it was decision day, Mason finally came to a decision and it ended up being his mom.

A couple of months later, Mason's mom wants to do a fresh new start and decides to move to Sacramento, California. That fresh start including the fact that Mason barely talks and doesn't even bother glancing at an instrument anymore since it reminds him of his times with his dad.

His neighbors welcome the family and from what felt like love at first sight, Mason's world stopped.
