A young boy, Alakhi, and girl, Daeva, are left alone when their mother passes. They then come across group who accepts them after they've been examined and don't pose as a threat. The two siblings walk into the group knowing nothing but the rules they were given by their mother:
1. Never leave a friend behind.
2. Stay quiet when they're near.
3. Never trust a smile.
4. Keep your guard up.
When the girl leaves her younger brother behind to find their group.. How will he survive without her.
This story's main focus is on Alakhi and how he survives, pushing his weakness aside to live. He's a young man who's scared of the unknown, which he was really protected by. When he was introduced to it, he didn't know how to react and could never really control himself in the situations. He was too scared.
