Single: Two Stories

Single contains two stories, "Miss Tennessee" (2004) and "The Cryerer" (2002), which originally appeared in The Land-Grant College Review and One Story, respectively, and later appeared in my collection, Why They Cried (Joyland/ECW Press, 2010). "Miss Tennessee" is about a dog that really can't talk and an astronaut who may not exist. "The Cryerer" is about an actor whose specialty is crying—and how he acquired this melancholy talent.
