Ben hated boredom. It's why he always tries to make things interesting in his interactions and always tried to keep things from getting stale. He figured a quick trip to Italy would be an adventure and have crazy antics for him to exploit.
Grover hated Ben. In a world of science, where things could be logically explained, Ben never seemed to fit in the picture. Going to Italy partially against his will, Grover was determined to avoid the kind of antics Ben would ultimately drag him into. But Grover has another reason for tagging along, and intends to unravel a peculiar mystery that lays before him.
Cassandra hated everything. All she cares about is getting as much sleep as possible and avoiding work. However, both those things are robbed from her when Ben calls in a favor, leading her to be awake and do her job. She has to weigh her options and fight forward, despite hating the fact she has to exist and would rather find a good spot to take a nap.
All the while, a mystery brews in the Cathedral, and ancient building owned by a mysterious individual named Saint Cloud who has built a huge following over the last few years. With plots against him and other mysteries, Ben and Grover must try to figure things out while all the while avoiding getting bored in the process.
