Seventeen-year-old Avery Peters suffers from a serious mental illness, with her family as her only supporters. Then the world as she knows it falls down around her and takes her family with it. Avery soon finds that other survivors see her as a set back, and are quick to abandon her. So when she runs into Finn, a seemingly harmless teenage boy, she doesn't expect him to stay long- especially as her condition worsens and she refuses to take her dwindling supply of medication.
