Link has to get rid of Dark Link before anybody finds out that he actually exists, but why is Dark Link so laid back about the whole thing? Doesn't he care about being destroyed?

In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. Link was a bit of a problem child when he first started school, all he ever knew was the kindness from his best and only friend, so when faced with other nastier people their age, he didn't react too well. Skip forward a couple years and he's improved. Expressing his feelings however didn't come so naturally to him, so he decided to just... But Zelda remembers him, the person he once was. He's so different now, and perhaps she is too. The whole land is, transformed by war as Ganondorf works to seize all that he believes once belonged to him, in a time no longer. Both Link and Zelda find themselves in the middle of this war, forced to fight and strategize and deal with their own inner demons as well as each other, amidst the war the Hylians fight to regain their land and defeat the King of Thieves. > < . Time has passed. Hyrule is getting rebuilt. Zelda on the other hand is not quite sure what to do. She is no longer a princess, She's a queen with responsibilities. A dark force is looming. Blighted Memories
Amnesia was a funny thing. It strips you of all memories, both good and bad. But what it didn't take away from Link was his caring heart. He wasn't a man who had time to deal with or worry about things like memories anyway. All he cared about was doing what was right. But just because Link had no memories, or any interest to reclaim them, didn't mean they wouldn't return to haunt him. Ever since Link woke up, strange things have been happening around the land. Horrific creatures, not quite monster and not quite human, begin appearing at night to terrorize the denizens of Hyrule. Link, not one to simply let such evils do as they please, decides to investigate into the matter as he travels across the land to find a way to destroy these creatures. It should've been just another job for him, just a problem the people needed solved, just another errand for the incarnation of Hylia's hero. But as he investigates, he is haunted by his past. Link's mind cannot remember what happened. But his heart did. He still feels what he lost, what he failed to protect, even after one hundred years. That's what draws something toward Link, the very same evil that created the creatures he faces. It follows and watches him from the shadows, taunting him, waiting for him to remember the past he's forgotten, waiting for the pain to resurface, waiting for the time he can no longer carry the weight of it all. As he journeys on his quest to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda, Link must learn to contend with another ancient evil that taints the land, all while facing the ghosts of his forgotten past. Link is known to be a man of few words. In this case, it is completely true. He has been mute since he was very little, no one knows why.
