It was my first day in a new high school and all I could think about was what way I had to go to get to my locker and then to first period.
My name is Anna-Marie, I'm almost 16, I'm in 10th grade and my parents got transferred to a small town called Preston for work.

I walked down the hallway of West Preston High School when I suddenly collided with a tall frame I thought may be a pole because it was so hard. But to my dismay I was caught by two muscular arms as I started to fall.
When I looked up I saw the most beautiful blue eyes I'd ever seen on a guy...wait guy?!? I scrambled back a few steps and started babbling an apology to the stranger in front of me. He had shaggy dirty blonde hair, blue-green eyes and the most amazing smile.
"I'm Anna-Marie Carter" I said holding out my hand. He took my hand and shook it with a warm smile.
"I'm Austin Jones"
"Uh, do you know where room 314 is?" I asked sheepishly.
"Ya its 10th grade science I'm in that class I'll take you there"

I stumble backwards slightly before a hand wraps around my waist, keeping me from falling. Looking up, I realize this wasn't a wall, but instead a very attractive male. A very messy, but definitely sexy, mop of black hair sat on top of his head. When I looked closer, I realized that it was a deep shade of brown that was probably often mistaken for black. My gaze traveled to his eyes, where I found two deep ocean blue eyes looking at me. I kept going further down to his too crooked nose to be called straight, which I assumed came from too many fights. His skin was tanned, but an olive tone suggested he had a natural darker complexion to begin with. My eyes finally found his pink, very plump lips which were resting slightly open. His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that?
