"Whoa, watch where you're going missy!" Jamie chuckled. I do have to admit he did have a nice smile which lit up his face when it was genuine.

"I-I'm fine." I stuttered. I didn't realise both of his hands were placed on my arm until I felt him squeeze my bicep. I quickly shook out of his grip and stepped back. "Don't touch me." I fired back.

"Ooh feisty! I was just making sure you wouldn't fall over." Jamie winked. He held up his hands in defence. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I grabbed the chips from behind him.

"Sure. Now I've got to go... see you at school." I started to walk off backwards. "Unfortunately!" I yelled back and faced forward.

"Ouch!" Jamie yelled back. Although I couldn't see him I imagined him putting his hand on his heart and tilting his head like he always does. I rolled my eyes and silently laughed to myself as I bought my things. I started walking again, possibly being late. However not long after, I heard a painfully familiar voice. "Y/n!" Jamie yelled.

BOOK #1 in The Fire series TRIGGER WARNING IN SOME CHAPTERS He leans closer, keeping me pinned against the wall with his hands on either side of my head. I glanced at both of them before holding his glare with my own. He was giving me a cold stare, caging me in like an animal. I bit my lip, trying to hold it back. I was never good in situations like these. He stopped leaning forward when his face was just inches from mine. He was trying to make me uncomfortable. Trying to scare me, but he didn't. I wasn't scared of him. I didn't hide my face or get nervous... I just bit my lip harder, trying to hold it in. It would just make things worse for me, I bet. He kept his eyes on mine as I glanced at his friend behind him with his arms crossed and a bored expression on his face. I looked back at the man in front of me. "You shouldn't act that way around me." He says coldly. "I can have you dead right-" I couldn't hold it in. I started laughing. He leans back, shocked, but his face goes into a glare as soon as his friend behind him perks up, watching, interested now. I calm down a little. "I'm sorry." I say, catching my breath. "Continue, Continue." He watched me closely before leaning closer to me again. "I can have you killed-" Suddenly, I lost it again, laughing harder, bending a little to hold my stomach. He punched the wall in an effort to scare me but instead made me laugh even harder, falling to the ground and rolling on my side. Soon I had his friend laughing with me as the man in front of me glared at both of us. "Don't give me that look. She's the one who started laughing." His friend said, wheezing a little bit and trying to stop laughing. I calmed down a bit, standing up to face them, a smile on my face. "Now, if you're done threatening me," I raise an eyebrow. "Or at least trying to. I'll be on my way." With that, I grabbed my backpack, turned my back to them, and walked away.

He once told me no one knows the real him.I didn't think he meant it, and not in a good way. He is a straight A student, and everyone knows it, not to mention he is on the swim team. All that though isn't the real him, the real him hides deep within himself. ---------- "Can you please tell me what that was?" I nearly shout at him. All I get is silence. He keeps his back to me. "Please, I need some explanation." I beg. I stay still as he stops dead in his tracks. His body is tense and it's scarring me. He turns around slowly to face me with his hands at his sides. His eyes meet mine, but there is no spark of any emotion in them. They are cold and dark making me look away not being able to hold his deadly stare. I feel uneasy under his gaze, and i feel his eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. "No, I won't explain because it's not important." He says in a low, almost, growl. I flinch and look back into his eyes. I feel hurt by his words and I don't know why, but I know he sees it in my eyes. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.

Katiya Carpenter was born and raised in a perfectly small beach town. She spent her summers with the well-off "summer kids" and her best friends, she worked at the diner, and was top of her class. Life was good, until it wasn't. Eventually, Kate finds herself cheated on and unsure of her future. Until the Michaels move into town for the summer. And it might just happen that Jackson Michaels is exactly what she needs. ----------- I turned back to my friends, my eyes instantly running into Jack's. He was standing in front of the bleachers with Hendricks and a few other guys, talking to Genny. Jack was staring at me, as soon as I turned he flipped his head the other way. But it was too late. "Jack, right?" I said, smiling and getting his attention. "Yeah. You're Katiya, Kate." He gave me a dazzling smile. It made me smile back at him. "I mean, most people just pick one of the options, not both." He chuckled a little and took a step towards me. "Both is good. Who are you here to see?" He asked, looking around, and past me. "Nobody in particular." I seemed to say easily, even though I was in fact, here to watch Jason and my dad. "I mean, everyone. I know a lot of people. Small town." I tried to correct myself immediately, and I noticed Hannah holding back laughter as I stumbled on my words. "Gotcha." He said, still smiling wide and taking a glance back at the field. "Good to see you again, Katiya Kate." This time he said it as if it were one word. It made me smile on the inside. He turned and jogged back towards his team. I was such an idiot.

Skylar Hi, I'm Skylar, but friends call me Sky. Actually, I don't have many of them. I'm shy and rather awkward. I think too much and feel too much, all at once. I'm just a normal girl who goes to the university, and whose life is going to change after meeting...him. Ace Fuck off! I'm not telling you anything about me, you motherfuckers. My life is not your fucking business! ~ *WARNING! This story contains mature content, strong language and self-harm.* "You like it when I say your name, hm?" His voice was so soft. "Skylar" He said and placed a soft kiss on my neck. I closed my eyes and turned my head to the side unconciously, giving him better access. His one hand was still wrapped around my neck and the other one was on my waist, holding me tight. His mouth detached on my neck, giving it gentle kisses. It felt so good that I couldn't move or do anything. I was completely frozen. I never felt like this before. No one has ever had such influence on me. I couldn't pull away from him, even if I wanted to. However, his hand traveled down from my waist and went under my blouse and that was like a bucket of cold water. I opened my eyes and jumped back a little, instantly missing his warm touch. But hello?? I don't know him. And I'm definitely not that kind of girl who makes out with random guys at parties. He opened his mouth with wonder, I was sure he didn't expect such a turn of events. I stepped back, looking at him with my parted lips. "I...uhm...I need to go. M-my friend is probably looking for me." I said quickly, turned around, and left the room, leaving him confused.
