"Whoa, watch where you're going missy!" Jamie chuckled. I do have to admit he did have a nice smile which lit up his face when it was genuine. "I-I'm fine." I stuttered. I didn't realise both of his hands were placed on my arm until I felt him squeeze my bicep. I quickly shook out of his grip and stepped back. "Don't touch me." I fired back. "Ooh feisty! I was just making sure you wouldn't fall over." Jamie winked. He held up his hands in defence. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I grabbed the chips from behind him. "Sure. Now I've got to go... see you at school." I started to walk off backwards. "Unfortunately!" I yelled back and faced forward. "Ouch!" Jamie yelled back. Although I couldn't see him I imagined him putting his hand on his heart and tilting his head like he always does. I rolled my eyes and silently laughed to myself as I bought my things. I started walking again, possibly being late. However not long after, I heard a painfully familiar voice. "Y/n!" Jamie yelled.

*********************** "You're the city kid who's parents kicked the buck- fuck. I mean shit. I mean hi." He stammers. The entire family stares at Jack in pure horror. I burst into laugher, still to their horror. "Good one." I chuckle. Jack raises his sharp eyebrows. "You're fucked up, City Boy." He says. "Kieran." I say. "Bless you." He responds quickly. "No that's my name. Kieran." I elaborate. "Like the coffee maker?" He asks. "What? No, not Kierig, Kieran." I repeat. "Key ring." Jack says. I sigh. "I'm bein' serious as all outdoors, I can't say it." Jack says. "Maybe because you talk like a weed whacker." I say. Jack looks taken back by my comment. "You're funny. I like you...Kerin?" Jack says. "Keep trying." I say. "Jack, why don't you help Kieran settle into his room?" Roger suggests putting so much emphasis on my name, I almost forget how to say it. "You mean my room? Sure thing, Father." Jack huffs. Wait... I have to share a room with that thing? He looks like he bites. "Don't worry, Kieran. He don't bite." Roger assures me. Did I say that aloud or has Jack bitten in the past? **************************** Kieran's life is in shambles. His parents suddenly die in a car accident and he is sent to his father's next of kin, Roger all the way in Georgia.
