Secrets and lies were never a part of my life. Until, that is, I met him. Then, everything changed. Or, maybe things were always messed up, and meeting him just brought clarity to the obvious. He says we're meant to be together, but I don't even know who I am anymore. He says he will always protect me, but he doesn't understand the pain that I've faced in my life. Werewolves used to be the villains in fantasy that I read growing up. The wolf who chased after Red. The wolf who blew down the little pigs' houses. Now, I'm told that they're real, and I am meant to spend the rest of my life with one.

"I don't know who I am anymore," I whispered, staring into the distance sadly. I was fed up with feeling like this. I was like a lost puppy who couldn't navigate its way back home. It was pathetic. I didn't even know if I had a home anymore. Would my life always be like this? Would I ever feel content? Safe? His gorgeous amber eyes softened in sympathy. It was almost as if he hated seeing me like this. But why? Why did he care? He didn't even know me. "I do," He said, determinedly. "You dropped this." I heard a husky voice say. I turned around to look at what I dropped and realized it was my schedule. I gasped. Damn, I would have been fucked if I'd lost it. I guess I didn't put it in my bag... I looked up to thank him, but ended up not being able to find my voice. He's really attractive. Drop dead gorgeous attractive. Hot. He has brown hair that is spiked up in a messy way and shiny chocolate brown eyes that are hard not to stare at. His jawline was firm and he is extremely tall compared to my 5'3" height; he seems like he's 6'1". He looks in good shape -- the white shirt he was wearing showed off his broad muscular chest. He wore a leather-mans jacket from the school over the t-shirt, with black denim jeans, and converse. I swallowed. I snapped out of it and took the paper forcing myself to say "thanks." However, he walked away before I even finished. OK... he obviously isn't interested in the 'new girl' like all the other students are. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed. Out of all the guys that have hit on me in school today he is the only one that has caught my eye -- bad news is that he didn't even bother. "You know him? I'm surprised the cheer-bitch hasn't threatened you yet." Jessica said, her face showing shock. "Um, no I don't know him... and cheer-bitch?" I frowned confused. "She's his ex-girlfriend, but considering she has such a small brain that is a size of a peanut, she won't leave him alone. I mean like seriously, EX; has she not heard of that quote, 'Thanks for the EXperience, Our time has EXpired, now EXit my life.' She is one clueless bimbo. Then again who would leave him alone he is S-E-X-Y!" I laughed. "I am going to love being your friend." I said while I looked back to where he had headed a while ago, but I no longer saw him. I sighed disappointed.

The only safe place anymore is pressed against him under the sheets. "Coal!" I call out again. ---I can hear her. She's here somewhere I know it. I can smell her sent threw the thick of the woods. "Sapphire!" I call out, but my call is lost in the night. I have to protect her. I have to save one, just one. Maybe that will be enough to clean the blood off my tainted skin. What if they get her? She'll... Change... I look up at the moon, could she not have heard my howls? Of course she did. She always did. I can hear the other wolves in the forest. Soon I too would be engulfed by the beast. Unable to control myself, unable to predict the beasts next move. Only she could tame the beast inside me. Why be afraid of the monster under the bed when you should be afraid of the one lying next to you under the sheets.--- I keep quiet in the deep dark night. Watching her waiting for her to come back to me. I wait for him to slip up just long enough for me to swoop in and take her. It's only a matter of time. I wait for him to turn into that hideous beast. The beast that only comes out in the light of the moon. The beast that feeds of the insentient. I have to find her,to make her perfect, at least that's what they tell me. They tell me she'll be perfect and she will be mine. She will be the beginning of a new ere the ere of the beast. Have you ever wondered if the creatures that lurk in the dark are real? Like vampires or werewolves? Well one of those is I know this because my dads one. Damn right my dads a werewolf but no I'm not. I'm Zarina daughter of the pack leader, half werewolf half wolf, daughter of a wolf, unknown to the world and out cast of my pack. When I was young (12 years of age to be exact) all the girls and boys were turning into wolves for the first time in a cage. Each child was in a cage including me, whilst my friends and classmates screamed in pain I sat there not feeling a thing with my father in wolf form just out side my cage waiting for me to turn, as much as I waited it did not come. The night past and pack members were gathering for a council meeting. Two days past and I was out cast my own father turned his back in me. I was on the street alone as a twelve year old with wolf ears and eyes. That was 2010 five years have past now and I'm being hunted.
