Joe was just trying to get to the bar to meet up with some friends for a beer when he came across what he thought was a mugging, and tried to play good Samaritan to a woman being surrounded by a group of men with clear violence in mind.

Instead he finds finds himself needing saved, and everything he thought he knew about his friends, even his family, yanked out from under him as he drops straight into a world where Vampires, and possibly even other things that bump in the night are dangerously real, and not even the greatest threat he finds himself facing, just for having had an unexpected glimpse into a dark world with some real teeth.

Editors Note: This is still in draft mode and may have errors which I am trying to fix as I find them, but may miss some. Thank you for your patience and your time!

Updated Editors Note: This run at the story is currently -on hold-. I feel as though it may have become too rambly and I'm not sure if it's worth fixing, so I am redrafting.

Editors Note: 4/6/17- OK so maybe I lied. I am rereading and trying to tweak a little since this was the older and apparently more popular version of the story, and maybe worth fixing. I'm going chapter by chapter to get familiar again and then I'll try and keep going after I finish making changes.
 - I have changed stuff up to Guest pt 2 and am working from there. Please tell me if you see glaring typos or punctuation problems, because I'll probably miss them.

A Different Virus - Laura's Story by CrystalScherer
153 parts Complete
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original. The Virus Within (Original rough draft) by CrystalScherer
144 parts Complete
Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved. 11 parts Complete
BEING REWRITTEN IN A NEW (and have yet to be released-) BOOK!! THIS IS THE OLD VERSION! In a world with certain people who have unusual and amazing powers, there are heroes and villains constantly clashing against each other like black and white. But in between, in a small gray area, lies the vigilantes. A bunch of people who protect and save civilians while capturing criminals illegally. People who are constantly hunted down by heroes for doing what's right, illegally. Tommy and his brother, Isaac, embark on a journey to a city away from home. After escaping their breaking family, the Simons. They set off on a journey of freedom, away from the clutches of their parents. As the years go by, in the shitty city they live in with a flawed hero system, they've decided to help those in need in the poorer parts of the city. But not as heroes, as vigilantes with the names of 'Mellohi' and 'Cat'. ~ | WARNING: LIGHT @BU$E, SWEARING, DRINKING, CHEATING, BLOOD AND FIGHTING| ~ READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!! ~ | Authors note | ~ I'm a somewhat inexperienced writer I guess, so don't expect much from me. This book is just a book for my creativity and imagination to explore. I'll try to upload as much as I can. This is a Mcyt superpowers au with an oc, which is somewhat inspired by myself, and no it is not a ship book unless I change my mind afterwards. There will be jokingly flirting and possibly inappropriate jokes, maybe I'm not sure. Oh yeah, and um, this is my first book so don't judge me please. And please don't be shy to tell me any other triggers. Thank you for reading! Started on Friday, January 14, 2022 Time: 7:13 pm
Four Journies by IndecisiveandJipped
1 part Complete
CALLIE has no family left. So she's been spending her time in the woods, picking at questionable berries and developing a dark worldview. She has a dream of vengance, to kill the man who murdered her mother. And when a seemingly random trip to the circus brings her together with some strange people, Callie finds out that her dream could become reality, and she just might tip the scales of doom and salvation in the process... ALEX is a pessimist. With good reason. His whole life has consisted of grief, pain and hardship, including occasional glimmers of happiness. But when happiness comes, it quickly fades, leaving an empty void in its place. Alex knows this, and he won't be fooled into thinking otherwise. Or will he? LUNA needs a better job. Being a trapeze artist may hide her from the government, but it's not so fun when the manager is a raving lunatic and there's likely to be a crazed pervert in the crowd. So when the big top gets demolished- literally- Luna sees it as a ticket to freedom (contracts are generally void once a business has been destroyed). What she doesn't see are the doors to her past creaking open, and their contents coming to haunt her. ZACH is normal...ish. As normal as a Gifted kid can be. His brand of normalcy includes a kickass grandma, childhood trauma and your everyday run of the mill dragon, but hey, he's not as insane as the others. Really, Zach is thirsting for adventure. Something that doesn't involve babysitting siblings or feuding with his parents. He should've been careful what he wished for.
