A boy who lived his whole life in the lowest level of the world gets a chance to experience the bigger and luxurious part of the world after he meets a special person. Despite not wanting to grab the opportunity since he had to live everyone he cared about behind in order to start his new life, he eventually did grab the chance because he promised the man to carry out his supposedly noble mission.

In his new life in the larger part of the world, he encounters various kinds of happy and sad moments that give him a solid purpose in life, but also grasping the reality makes him very confused and even frustrated at times. It's the journey of the boy named Kishor who tries to achieve happiness in his life, by going through a lot of hardship on the way.

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again. Or in other words, my unintentional and accidental ripoff of My Hero Academia :/ Blurb is a work in progress

A twelve-year-old girl named M's life is turned upside down when a mysterious boy drags her into an underground world, where magic and treasure await. But there's something lurking in the shadows that could put M's life and everything she loves at risk. **UNEDITED** (Please excuse any grammatical or spelling errors, these are completely accidental and do not reflect my writing and English skills) If you read the story, I'll love you forever, except I won't because that would be just a little bit creepy. Please leave me a comment somewhere if you believe this story should be rated mature. I'm not entirely certain myself. The first of 'The Misfortune' trilogy.
