My face glowed whiter than usual as I nearly crushed my cell phone. How could Renee do this to me? I can't live with my father in Forks; I barely know him!

"Please," I begged into the phone. "I thought changing me meant I would be staying with you for the rest of eternity? Do you know how difficult it will be to keep my secret if I live with him? How will I hunt?"
