Reluctantly, she opened one of the heavy wooden chests. The lid creaked loudly as it flipped back.
A dusty cloak. Coins. Letters. Rusty nails.
At least a few useful things.
She threw the cloak over her shoulders, put the money in her pockets and disappeared outside.

What was still anything worth...?
Her hand slid into her leather doublet. She felt something ... soft, very small in her hand.
Slowly she pulled it out and eyed it. The little crushed blue flower.

Never Back Again // The Hobbit, Fili X OC

14 parts Ongoing Mature

When a cowgirl from the late 1800's finds herself in a universe with creatures and problems unlike any other she has ever seen, Emma decides that this is her chance to start over. With the promise of gold and a little nudge out the door from a meddling wizard, she sets off to help a band of dwarves reclaim the homeland from a dragon. But her habits of violence and theft are not so easily outrun, and the dwarves may not be willing to let a wanted criminal in their midst. Will she find purpose or will her past consume her before the dragon can? or; modern girl in middle earth, except she's not modern and has no idea what's going on most of the time.
