Asterin's eighth year at Hogwarts was never going to be easy after the Battle of Hogwarts. She wasn't sure she would even go back, until she got there, but the one person she didn't expect to see back roaming the Castle halls, was Draco Malfoy.
With no family, and no one really to turn to, she feels isolated from the world, so when Draco looks to be struggling with adjusting, she reaches out to try and make it a little easier for them both.

She just wasn't expecting it to go... like this.

Having kept them up for so long during the war, he can't bring himself to take them down. The only person who manages to get behind his walls just so happens to be the bushy-haired Head Girl.
