Rachel is a high school senior. She's in band and plays trumpet. Her best friend is Joe. He's also in band. Rachel and Joe are inseparable. They are always together or always talking to each other. They start to fall for each other. Rachel has a dream of becoming a band director. When she graduates high school, she plans on attending college and majoring in music education. Joe has the same dream as Rachel. They are so much alike. Rachel has a secret that only Joe knows. She is very depressed and very suicidal. She does cut and has attempted suicide once before. What happens when she is bullied? Will she start cutting again or go through with her suicide plan that she has had for a while? Will Joe be able to save her before it's too late?
