This world has 95% of people with abilities. They're graded by levels, 10 being the strongest and 0 being no ability at all. Society is also different. If your ability level was higher than six, you lived a rich and happy life. Anyone lower lived in The Slums. These abilities were called "flairs" most were different except for the lower-level ones. You could decide to be a worker or a hero. Heroes went to work in Hero Agencies. The more powerful heroes in an agency, the richer the agency.

Our main character is Veronica Swan. She is the powerful daughter of Charlotte Swan and Elijah Swan. Their family is the third richest in the world and they own one of the most powerful Hero Agencies in the world, Swan Hero.

That's where Drax Clayton comes in. He lives on the streets as an orphan and is really good at getting himself into trouble. He's a survivor orphan (one of few, most die after being left/abandoned) and everyone looks at him as a silly kid with a weak flair.

So it all starts when Veronica finally convinces her parents to let her go to normal school. She used to go to a prestigious white school where most of the kids were racist. Her parents of course were ignorant to that. Now, she finally gets to go to Scarsdale High school.
Scarsdale High school is a school where both the rich people and The Slums kids attend. It's located right in the divide between rich and poor and the kids are always against each other.

Join Drax and Roni as they get themselves tangled in an uprising that could easily turn to war.

"Three weeks. That's how long I got to have drama-free. I'm not sure what is happening to me or to Oakwood. Nothing's the same since I rolled into town and it just keeps getting weirder. Suspicious agents in suits roam the streets without an explanation. They're staring straight at me. The new Chemistry teacher is NOT who he says he is. I'm doing things I never thought I could. Like, mutant-level things... Lauren, Luc's dead twin sister, hid something from everyone. Something important that may have lead to her demise and that could lead to ours. Hunters are in town. I never knew four words could contain so much dread and terror. I'd rather deal with the Wanderers. I'm on the brink of a breakdown. I need help..." BOOK #2 IN THE SERIES! Ignorance is not bliss... In the wake of ridding Oakwood of Wanderers, other dangers come creeping in and they're somehow linked to Luc's absent twin. The past returns to haunt the mutants in inconspicuous ways. Riley's life is yet again in jeopardy, but this time she's not alone. Luc and his family are all thrown into the teetering balance. More secrets are uncovered. A trap dawns on them all. Invisible threats start crawling from all directions. Who is the real enemy? TW : behaviours of depression and PTSD are displayed. I don't name them, but one of the character will be struggling a lot. It may not be suitable for everybody. Other adult matters are briefly included, but nothing explicit or intense. Rewriting specifications : the main points of the story and end of the book will remain the same, am just going to change a few ways of getting there and adding some extra spice. Mutants have existed long enough to be properly integrated into society, but not long enough for everyone to have accepted them. Outside of the United States, a hub for mutant immigrants fleeing the oppressive laws of their own countries, fear of mutant syndrome bleeds through the cracks in mysterious deaths, obnoxious court rulings, and social isolation. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows in America, either ⸻ some states are more progressive than others, and it's a constant battle over who has what rights and where. But there is one class of mutants that nearly everyone can agree on avoiding: Class F. The Freaks. For awkwardly tall and perpetually oblivious homeschooler Noah Kirby, all that exists is his house and the little graveyard on his street in North Carolina. When the opportunity comes along to enroll as a first-year at F Class Academy, an up-and-coming school for the most dangerous mutants of the generation, it means opening his eyes to an entirely new world, one where mutant life isn't as easy as he thought it was. Noah has three goals to ensure his start at FCA goes smoothly: 1. Befriend his moody Ability Management partner Amaris, so that they don't both risk failing the class, 2. Get to the bottom of why he keeps waking up surrounded by dissected corpses, and 3. Make it through the year without getting killed by one of his classmates' disastrous accidents. It may sound impossible, but with a dash of optimism and the help of a lot of new friends, he's confident he can make it work. FCA is nothing like he's ever seen before, but it can't be so scary. At the end of the day, mutant highschoolers are just like any other highschoolers... right? [ This story is unabashedly inspired by franchises I liked when I was a kid. I'm mostly writing it just for fun and for my friends to read, but if you also liked stuff like the X-Men, Percy Jackson, and Ever After High, you might have a fun time too! ]

"Listen, I've got a proposition for you," Azure's firm voice flew across the soft wind of the graveyard, "something mutually beneficial." Elliot stepped back slightly, "I doubt that." Azure stepped closer and the street light flickered; he then whispered, it was soft, like the fall of dead leaves, "I can help you keep your scholarship. Don't you want to keep your dream a reality?" Elliot narrowed his eyes, "Did you do a background check on me?" "That doesn't answer my question." "And that didn't answer mine." (Abridged) -/- Life had never been fair to Elliot. After barely managing to scrape by, he somehow made it to his junior year at Central Haven, one of the most prestigious preparatory high schools in the country. He was prepared for another two tiresome years of high school, but the future has other plans for him. The start of the school year brings with it the infamous Central Haven merit project. Unfortunately, it's done in pairs this year. Even worse, he's stuck with Azure, notorious for his flippant demeanor. His living situation gets worse and his scholarship is at risk. Azure notices Elliot's struggles and the two make a deal. Surely Azure's up to something, but what? Regardless, Elliot isn't in a position to refuse. ...Maybe they'll find and lose Liberation. -/- If you're unsure about this reading this story, I hope you'll at least stick around to chapter 7 when the story begins ramping up. This story is a slow burn, enemies to friends to lovers. Please do not take this story at surface value as there is a lot of subtext. Be aware: the story can be extremely subtle. The story delves into various topics with social commentary so if you want a nuanced modern romance story, I highly suggest you give this story a try. Elliot is a strong protagonist, just less traditional. Updates will come on Fridays at 4 p.m. (PST) with most months having at least one update. The ending is planned so the story won't be incomplete.
