Cassie Young has finally found him. She finally found her witch but there was only one slight problem. The guy doesn't even know about his powers. Cassie is a supernatural being called 'A Witch's Familiar'. Familiars have always been recognized as a witch’s companion, an animal bird or creature that helps the witch with magic, it is not necessary to be a witch to have a familiar but Luca Marin was lucky enough to have Cassie. A familiar is like having a soulmate but better.
When Cassie finally convinces Luca that he is indeed a witch (or a warlock if you're picky), she has to help him control his powers after an incident that happened with a popular bully. Despite his built up anger and being inexperienced at witchcraft; there was yet another problem. A witch and their familiar aren't supposed to be romantically or sexually involved. It was one of the biggest rules out there and yet Cassie and Luca manage to break it. How are you not supposed to fall in love with the person who was literally meant for you? The one person in the world that understood you completely.
