Alyssa Robert has always been blind from the very day she was born. Together with her mother, Carly Robert, she lives in a small house in an American neighborhood, a few blocks from her boyfriend, Jay Austin's residence. Alyssa only has Carly, because her father passed away at war thousands of miles away when she was 6, leaving her scarred but strong.
On her 14th birthday, Alyssa's life takes an abrupt and drastic turn. She starts hearing odd whispers and murmurs, and when she talks about her experiences, she's shrugged off and told she's just hearing things. That is until she tells Jay.
