Wraiths. Beings that can steal a person's memories and life just by touching them. They live for centuries blending in where they can and living in shadows.
White spirits. Beings of purity and light. They strive to drive out all darkness in the world and achieve balance. They also have the duty to guard over any pure souls that are born in the world.
Humans. Beings caught in between. Food for wraiths, children needing protection to the white spirits. But once every hundred or so years one is born with a pure soul. Born with the ability to change the balance of the world these pure souls are hunted by both wraiths and white spirits.
If a wraith gets a pure soul they can gain a limitless power and possibly their humanity back. If a white spirit manages to protect a pure soul until they're 21 years old, the pure soul will be safe for the rest of their life.
