Azure Sea

An aging, starving empire. A corrupt, dilapidated ship. A power hungry naval recruit. The Azorean Empire, the beacon of technology and science of the East, is on the brink of collapse. Overpopulation and food and land shortages threaten to destroy what they've all worked very hard to create. The only option left is to expand into the poisoned land into the west, sending expendable crews and their ships to explore and map out the desolate, poisoned landscape, and to figure out the source of the disease afflicting the land. Jax is a recruit posted on one of these expedition crews. At first his only worries are his troubles in attempting to grab power. But, the western lands to not favour humans, and the expedition crew will be tested in a fight for survival, and the right to live, against an extremely hostile ecosystem warped by the disease affecting the lands, that will ultimately decide the survival of the Azorean empire.
