Mary macdonald, currently called Mary Anderson, wants nothing to do with the wizarding world now that the war is over. She marries a muggle named Carter Anderson and they have their first daughter. 

But then, everything goes wrong. she was a fool to believe that the war was over. she should have know. she should have known that the war will begin again. 

The story follows Mary Macdonald in her adult life and throughout the second wizarding war, including Sirius and Remus' deaths. 

The story is named after the song "When The War Is Over" from the television series "The Next Step". I felt that this song just fitted so well to the story, you can go and have a look on the lyrics on the Internet. plus, it's a good song.

This story is partly based on the fanfiction "All The Young Dudes" by MsKingBean89. all credits to MsKingBean89.
