The story continues with Calder and Trice setting off to rescue Calder’s kidnapped sister, Maya. No one on Ulva seems to know exactly who took her, but they have a lead that could provide answers. Now the race is on, because few return from the shadowy world where slaves are traded.
Cordelia, meanwhile, has been struggling with her own demons, haunted by fears she has never felt before. To placate them, she wants to find those responsible for her abduction. Was it truly random, or was she targeted?
As she searches for the answers, she learns of Maya’s fate. She’ll do anything she can to help Calder and Trice in their quest, but first she has to find them. Only the ocean is a big place.
