Henry Blanks works at a seven to five job at Dunkin Donuts then arrives home to his apartment to relieve the stress of the day with onesies, bottled milk, a bit of baby food, and television.

Jamie Klinks is a children's therapist at Hope's Hospital in New York. Having to deal with children is a tough and oftentimes, stressful job for most, but for Jamie, it was his dream. All he needed was a bit of coffee and a pill or two of aspirin to get the job done.

On the morning before his work, Jamie comes face to face with Henry and asks him (not so subtly) for his number.

How will their relationship work out and what will Jamie's reaction be when he finds out about Henry's "little secret?"

He doesn't care about popularity and thinks it's amusing more than ever to see the girls want him. That is, until he meets the new girl who immediately draws his attention and makes him instantly intrigued. It's hard for him to trust anyone other than his close friends and she doesn't trust anybody, including guys. Can they help each other out? Can he help save her from herself? Okay, sorry for the crappy description but for now it will have to do and I hope you all give this story a chance. It is personal to me and in the Introduction before chapter one, I will explain why it is. I hope you guys like this it is beautiful. © Copyright 2019 All Rights Reserved

TRIGGER WARNING- this story contains abuse and talks of abuse and other mature themes. Please do not read if it bothers you! *** Patch McAlister is a quirky, calm young chef who randomly applied for a job at a lodge in remote Alaska. He doesn't much, but he has a personality that leaves everyone shocked when he opens his mouth. After his boss wakes up with him in his bed one random morning, their personal lives become even more intertwined. Devin Ridgeway owned and operated the Ridgeway Lodge with his sister and mother, and he rarely got involved with anyone other than his family. He'd gotten close with Patch, wondering how in the world the man was able to function without talking to people. As their busy summer season picks up, Devin begins to unravel the secrets Patch has kept close to his heart. He sees different sides of the chef that he never imagined he'd see and has to intervene on several occasions despite really only having a friends with benefit relationship on top of their working one. But Patch's past threatens to mess with everyone at the lodge, and Devin can't have that. His family rallies around their employee as they try to help him through everything. Devin realizes how deep his feelings actually go, and he's willing to risk it all for the chef who randomly showed up in his life. ****All credit to the National Park Service for the photo of Lake Clark****
