Kazuto Kirigaya (Kirito) gets shot whilst at college, he wakes up in a strange new world, full of people both not much older or younger than him. The people in this world are the people who died on the same day and at the exact same time. They are all told that they have 10 days to complete the tasks they are set. By doing so, they will be able to wake from their comas and live a normal life again. However, if they fail to complete the tasks by the end of the 10th day, they will die in the real world and will live in this underworld forever. Can Kirito and his friends complete the tasks and escape the underworld before it is too late?
