Running from our future
Centuries ago this was a great planet, now it's a husky shadow of its former beauty. Though the remnants of its former magic still linger it was destroyed by power hungry scientists. More tests to make more technology to go further, faster more this more that. Boom It all went up in flames, radiation spilled out into South America from the global power station in Brazil. The nuclear plant 15 times that of Chernobyl blew its top. The initial explosion flattened Brazil and the shockwaves were felt from the Florida keys. But the thing that truly ruined the world was the nuclear fallout. it rained down everywhere turning the world into a desolate wasteland deserts for miles and miles. Now you live in districts to survive, but what's the good in just being a number. Why would you look forward to a future of infant nothing, can you run from that? Where would you go? Where have the people who have escaped gone? Is that a future? What if there's someone who got left behind? This story follows the first born child of the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik of the Omaticaya clan. Older sister to Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuktirey. She was raised to be the perfect balance of Neytiri and Jake, maybe a little too perfect. Follow her story as she has to give up the only life she has ever known to keep her people safe. --**-- My grandmother notices my frozen state and makes her way to me. "My child..." I turn to look at her, "do not be afraid of life, do not be afraid of fate, be afraid of doing nothing to change it." As the words leave her lips, it sparks a dying fire in my heart. A fire I thought would extinguish along with my title. I smile and pull her into a hug, "I will find my way back to you one day..." I whisper in her ear. "I know, and when you do, you will be a different person. I cannot wait to meet her." With her final words, and a newfound light in my soul, I turn to follow my family down the pathway. I reach the end and mount Kxitx, and with one last look at my clan, I pull my headpiece over my forehead, yip to signal takeoff, and burst from the ground like a sapling reaching to the sun.
