Climate change awareness (Research)

17 parts Complete Mature

Climate change is a community concern and shared-responsibility. Hence, this study determined the awareness on the alteration of atmospheric condition, specifically the awareness of the respondents on climate change through basic concepts, causes, impacts, mitigating measures and current climate change issues. The main tool used to gather data was a test questionnaire answered online by in-service secondary school teachers as respondents. Mathematically, the awareness was determined by considering the correct number of responses on the provided test questions. The frequency of correct numbers of response determined the percentage of in- service teachers who are aware and not towards a particular item/criterion. The overall awareness on climate change of respondents resulted into moderate level of awareness. The researcher proposed an information, education and communication material in the form of a brochure as output to enhance further knowledge on the alteration of atmospheric condition of the respondents. Keywords: climate change, awareness, in-service teachers and mitigating measures.
