Sidelines {BWWM}

"Are you serious Donovan? You've always had me by your side. You just never fucking knew because you always had me on the sidelines." Shouting, I run my hand over my face as I stand to grab my keys and leave. If he truly believes I never wanted to support him that's his choice. I can't change his mind.

"OK, Diva. Just hold on. We can talk about this. Right?" He uttered quickly, grabbing my wrist. I hate doing this to him. I never wanted to keep 'Mara away from him. It wasn't my choice, but this time I won't stand here for him to disrespect me. I don't even want to look at him. Cause I know if I do, I'll change my mind. I'll let him say what he want to and about me. And my momma didn't raise no hoe. I thought about it for a second before yanking my wrist from his hand.

"No, Donovan. There isn't anything for us to talk about. We can make a schedule for you to see Mara. But this, Us? This won't work", I spoke to him calmly, feeling my anger spike more as I continued to speak and think "It won't work because she'll never be your priority. And that doesn't sit right with me. I was fine with being #2 but I can't allow for her to never be #1."

"She already is! Diva please you gotta understand. There's nothing I want more than this! Us!" He shouted stepping closer to me. I looked into his eyes seeing nothing but sadness. I placed my hand on his chest, right over his heart, letting him know I love him. He leaned inward toward the motion, something we'd done since young. We stayed like this for a moment before he wrapped his arms around me, kissing my forehead. My eyes closed in bliss wishing we could stay like this forever, trapped in this illusion. I felt my tears cascade down my face into his shirt. I also felt his body shake, signaling his crying also. I wrapped my free arm around him squeezing tight.
