An unidentified amount of time after Gumball Watterson encouraged Penny Fitzgerald to break out of her shell and be herself, a new threat has emerged from the world of infinite static with the intention of capturing the one fairy who exposed herself to the world. This sends the two of them on the run from not only Rob, but a new enemy like none the town has ever seen before (even by Elmore's standards). With the entirety of Elmore, and possibly the world, at stake, the two lovebirds are indirectly sent on a journey both physically and emotionally. Gumball is now introduced to the darker side of the fairy's emotions and her feelings about herself and her powers. The Vacation: An Amazing World Of Gumball Story
Set in future Elmore, Gumball and company have come a long way from their days as students at Elmore Junior High. Gumball now has finally settled down, and has forged a strong relationship with his childhood sweetheart Penny and has raised a family. Gumball has followed in his mother's footsteps by working in the Rainbow Factory, but as an accountant. The days are long and grueling, but now he understands what his mother truly meant by the joys of raising a family, and he wishes to spend more time with them, so he schedules a few days off. Unbeknownst to him, Penny has arranged for the entire Watterson family to join them on a vacation, one that will take them to the rural outskirts of Elmore National Park, California!
