Annabeth has been both emotionally and physically abused her whole life by her step-mother. Her father knows, yet does nothing about it. Her father neglects her. She has 2 younger half brothers that mock her for not having a mom. Annabeth's mom disappeared when she was 2, for she has very few memories of her. Since she is homeschooled she never gets a break from her stepmother; Helen. She doesn't have any friends because Helen won't let her out. What happens when Percy Jackson, a kid who used to be abused by his former step-father moves in next door?
