The island is quite similar to the game, even to the existence of Usami.Even if the despair days are long in the past, the damage has been done and for some has let them whit bad mental health. 

Kazuichi Souda was extremely effected by this events making him depressed and bringing back his addiction issues.
 This will change when one day he wakes up in Gundham Tanaka's bed,.
